Haryana News: Hindu group gives call to pick up arms during mahapanchayat

Haryana News

Haryana News: A Hindu group gathered a mahapanchayat in Palwal to talk about the plans to resume the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, which was disrupted on July 31 due to stone-throwing, in the wake of the violent riots that broke out in Haryana’s Nuh.

According to Palwal SP Lokender Singh, the approval for the mahapanchayat was given subject to a number of conditions, including a ban on hate speech.

The mahapanchayat was told it was a “do or die situation” by Acharya Azad Shashtri of the Haryana Gau Rakshak Dal, who also ordered the young to take up arms.

Shashtri said, “We should immediately ensure getting license of 100 arms in Mewat, and not guns but rifles because rifles can do long range firing. It is a do or die situation. This countries division was on the basis of Hindu & Muslims. It’s because Gandhi that these Muslims stayed back in Mewat.”

The youths were also urged not to fear FIRs by him. “FIRs shouldn’t make us nervous. We shouldn’t be alarmed even though there are FIRs against me as well, he remarked.

The mahapanchayat was held in Pondri village in Palwal district, which borders Nuh, and was sponsored by Sarv Hindu Samaj. Discussion at the gathering focused on the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession’s restart after it was abruptly stopped owing to the outbreak of violence in Nuh. Six persons lost their lives as a result of the mob onslaught on the procession, including two home guards and a cleric.

In Nuh, a predominantly Muslim area, the march encountered opposition, which ultimately resulted in fighting between the communities.
