The Haryana government has launched the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Dayalu Scheme with the aim of extending compassionate financial support to families during difficult times. Named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the scheme reflects his vision of inclusive growth and welfare for every citizen.
Financial Relief for Families
Under the scheme, the government provides immediate financial assistance to families who lose their breadwinner or face sudden hardships. This ensures that families are not left helpless during emergencies and are able to manage essential needs without delay.
Empowering the Vulnerable
Special focus is given to economically weaker sections, women, and marginalized groups to uplift them and offer a sense of security. The scheme acts as a social safety net, ensuring that no individual is forced into distress due to unforeseen family crises.
Government’s Commitment
Officials stated that this initiative highlights Haryana’s commitment to providing welfare-oriented governance, inspired by Vajpayee’s compassionate leadership. The scheme also complements other social security programs already active in the state, thereby creating a more comprehensive support system.
Highlighting the Dayalu Scheme, Saini stated that the initiative is aimed at providing financial relief to families who lose their primary breadwinner. He informed that on this occasion, a sum of ₹76 crore was directly transferred into the bank accounts of 2,020 beneficiary families across the state.
The Chief Minister explained that under the Mukhyamantri Dayalu Yojana as well as the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Yojana, affected families are given timely assistance to help them recover from personal tragedies. “This government stands with every citizen in their time of need. These schemes are not just about financial aid but about extending compassion, as the name ‘Dayalu’ suggests,” Saini added.
