As Gurugram gears up for New Year’s Eve celebrations, the city’s police department has announced robust security arrangements to ensure public safety. According to Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police, extensive measures have been implemented to manage crowds and maintain order during the festivities.
Comprehensive Security Arrangements
Hotspots Identified: Authorities have pinpointed 22 key locations expected to draw large crowds during the celebrations.
Officer Deployment: A force of 2,000 police officers will be stationed across the city to maintain law and order.
Barricades and Parking: To manage traffic and ensure smooth mobility, 10 inter-state barricades and 68 barricades within Gurugram have been established. Additionally, 10 designated parking areas have been set up near the hotspots.
Technology-Driven Monitoring
To enhance vigilance, Gurugram Police will use CCTV cameras at key locations. Real-time surveillance will help officers respond swiftly to any disruptions. Drone monitoring is also being considered for areas prone to overcrowding, ensuring an added layer of security.
Stringent Traffic Management
Special traffic management teams will be deployed to prevent congestion and ensure smooth flow near celebration hotspots. Citizens are advised to utilize the designated parking spaces and follow traffic guidelines to avoid inconvenience.
Safety and Public Awareness
Public awareness drives have been launched, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly. Guidelines include avoiding drink-and-drive incidents, reporting suspicious activities, and adhering to safety protocols. Additional helpline numbers have been activated for assistance during emergencies.
