The city of Gurugram is on track to transform into a world-class urban hub under the ambitious Gurugram Global City Project, which is being developed with an investment of ₹1 lakh crore. The mega project is expected to create over 5 lakh job opportunities and benefit nearly 1.6 million people, according to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
CM Saini recently visited the project site and held a meeting with potential investors, highlighting the scale, vision, and benefits of the development. “Once completed, this project will not only revolutionize the region’s urban landscape but also serve as an engine of employment and economic growth,” he said.
What is the Gurugram Global City Project?
Spread across 1,000 acres, the Global City will be a mixed-use urban development offering residential, commercial, hospitality, and educational spaces—designed to meet global urban standards. The first phase, currently underway on 587 acres, is set to be completed by the end of next year at a cost of ₹940 crore.
One of the major highlights of the plan is a 35 crore-litre reservoir spread over 18 acres, designed not just for functional water supply, but also to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal. It will serve as a key water storage facility and a scenic attraction.
Built for Modern Living and Working
The project is designed around the “Walk-to-Work” concept, promoting a blend of luxury lifestyle and sustainability. Residential areas will feature modular kitchens, home automation, spacious balconies, swimming pools, gyms, parks, and children’s play zones.
On the commercial front, the city will offer state-of-the-art infrastructure for offices and retail outlets, with provisions for plotted developments and high-end business facilities.
The Gurugram Global City Project stands as a landmark initiative in Haryana’s urban development journey, promising to elevate the state’s economic profile and redefine future-ready infrastructure in India.
