CM Nayab Saini Flags Off 5 Electric Buses
In a tweet, Saini said, “Very soon, 375 electric buses will be provided to 11 municipal corporations of the state. Today, we flagged off 5 electric buses, marking the beginning of this initiative. These buses will not only strengthen the public transport system but also help in reducing air pollution through their operations.”
The electric buses, equipped with modern features such as GPS tracking, CCTV surveillance, and wheelchair accessibility, are part of Haryana's commitment to eco-friendly infrastructure and green energy solutions. The initiative aligns with the central government’s FAME-II scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles).
The First Batch Of Buses Will Serve Major Cities
According to officials, the first batch of buses will serve major cities like Gurugram, Faridabad, Karnal, and Panipat, helping reduce dependency on diesel-run transport.
CM Saini added that this move would not only benefit the environment but also ease urban commuting, reduce noise pollution, and offer citizens a more comfortable travel experience.
The state government has also planned for dedicated charging stations and maintenance hubs to ensure the efficient functioning of the electric fleet.
With increasing focus on climate resilience and clean air, Haryana is among several states investing heavily in electric mobility to meet national goals on carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
