Haryana is set to develop 10 integrated industrial townships across the state, fulfilling a key promise from the BJP’s Assembly election manifesto. The government has already identified 10 strategic zones along major expressways and highways, initiating discussions to finalise the development framework.
Industries Minister Rao Narbir Singh confirmed the progress, stating that these townships would be strategically located along three major highways and expressways. “We aim to develop these zones at highway intersections or locations with strong connectivity, as it is a key factor in the success of any industrial zone. Areas along the National Expressway 5 (Delhi-Katra), the Narnaul-Ambala Expressway 152D, and the proposed Dabwali-Panipat Highway are among the identified locations,” he told The Tribune.
Locations Finalised with NITI Aayog’s Consultation
A meeting has already taken place between the Haryana Government and NITI Aayog to finalise the townships' potential sites.
The identified locations include:
New Gurugram
Hisar (near the airport)
Sirsa (on the newly proposed Dabwali-Panipat Highway)
Greater Faridabad (leveraging proximity to Jewar Airport)
Bhiwani (on National Highway 709)
Narnaul (near the upcoming logistics hub)
Jind, Kaithal, and Ambala
Pilot Phase and Expansion Plans
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to develop at least three industrial zones on a pilot basis, setting a one-month deadline for finalising the blueprint.
While Gurugram and Faridabad are known for their strong industrial potential, the government has also ordered surveys in inner Haryana to explore additional industrial township sites beyond the initial 10. “This will ensure that other districts, which may have been left out, are also considered for industrial parks and zones based on land availability,” an official said.
Economic Boost and Employment Generation
With Haryana’s strategic location as a logistics and manufacturing hub, these industrial townships are expected to generate employment, attract investment, and boost the state's economy. The project aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen Haryana’s industrial landscape, making it a key player in India’s economic growth.
