Lok Sabha Election 2024: Congress Delays Announcement of Haryana Candidate List

Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Congress party refrained from releasing its list of candidates for Haryana on Saturday, contrary to earlier indications by AICC Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria. Despite Babaria’s earlier statement that the list would be announced during the day, no such announcement was made.

Congress Delays Announcement of Haryana Candidate List

Now, Babaria has stated that the final decision on the candidate list will be taken by AICC president Malikarjun Kharge, with or without consulting the party’s central election committee.

Although there was speculation about the possibility of releasing the candidate list on Sunday, it will depend on the developments and decisions made by the party leadership.

On Saturday, the AICC sub-committee, headed by Salman Khurshid and Madhusudan Mistry, submitted a comprehensive report to Kharge. Alongside the joint report, individual reports from committee members such as Rajya Sabha member Randeep Surjewala and AICC general secretary Selja were also provided.

The delay in announcing the candidate list indicates ongoing deliberations within the Congress leadership regarding the selection of candidates for the upcoming elections in Haryana.
