Weather Update December 27 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog will prevail the Northeast. The entire Delhi NCR – Delhi, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and adjoining areas – are likely to experience chilling, cold waves.
Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand
The states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are likely to receive fresh snowfall, signalling a moderate to severe winter phase across North India.
In Jammu & Kashmir, Gulmarg and Pahalgam are likely to receive heavy snow throughout Friday night and Saturday early morning, reducing visibility and disrupting road connectivity at higher altitudes. Isolated places over Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are likely to receive a bounty of snowfall.
In Himachal Pradesh, areas like Manali and Shimla are likely to wake up to thick layers of fresh snow. Travellers and residents are advised to avoid unnecessary movements and travel, especially in avalanche-prone areas. Uttarakhand’s Nainital and Auli regions are likely to receive moderate to heavy snowfall.
Weather Update December 27 2025- Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab & Uttar Pradesh
A majority of regions in Delhi NCR, Haryana, and Punjab & Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive icy winds with the minimum temperature hovering between 4°C and 6°C, nearly three degrees below normal. Thick fog is expected in areas such as Meerut, Etawah, Hastinapur, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Dadri.
Western and Northern parts of Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha are also likely to be covered under thick fog.
Northeast India
Dense to very dense fog is very likely at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya. Guwahati, Imphal and Agartala are likely to be impacted the most. Visibility is likely to drop sharply on December 27, 2025.
