Weather Update January 10 2026: Rain Alert For Delhi NCR, Upper North Hilly Regions To Shiver With Bone-Chilling Cold And Snowfall, South States To Get Bounty Of Rain

Weather Update January 10 2026: A blend of persistent dense fog, cold wave conditions is likely to prevail in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Weather Update January 10 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that upper northern states of the country may receive fresh snowfall while Delhi NCR and adjoining areas may receive moderate rainfall.

A blend of persistent dense fog, cold wave conditions is likely to prevail in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Weather Update January 10 2026-Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan

Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Hastinapur, Saharanpur and Meerut would receive moderate to heavy rainfall, especially during early morning hours. Dense and thick fog is likely during early morning and late night hours.

Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Many regions in Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad may experience a fresh bounty of snowfall. Parts of East and North Uttarakhand may receive heavy snowfall while Himachal Pradesh residents may face trouble commuting due to poor visibility and heavy snowfall.

West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha

Many regions in the states of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha are likely to witness moderate to intense cold waves throughout the day. Bhopal, Jabalpur, Bijnor, Varanasi, Ranchi and Dhanbad may witness thick fog and harsh weather conditions throughout the day.

Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

Moderate rainfall and thick fog is expected in isolated regions of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. IMD predicts that visibility levels may be severely impacted, especially in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu

North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Puducherry, Vizag and Ooty are likely to experience intense cold or rainfall. Isolated places over Karaikal, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu may experience cold, chilling waves especially during early morning and evening hours.

Maharashtra and Goa

Several parts in Maharashtra and Goa are likely to experience moderate cold.
