Weather Update January 11 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fierce cold waves in the northern states of the country.
Weather Update January 11 2026-Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan
IMD has predicted that cold would increase in Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi, Rae Bareli, Agra, Mathura and Gorakhpur. The same weather conditions could also be expected by the residents of Tundla and Aligarh. Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Bathinda would also face cold wrath. In Haryana, Panipat and Sonipat would be facing extreme weather conditions.
Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Hastinapur, Saharanpur and Meerut may notice rainfall and dense, thick fog. Commuters driving through Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and Delhi-Meerut Expressway are advised to observe a high sense of care, caution and diligence. The minimum temperature will be 6 degrees Celsius for Delhi NCR.
Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Bareilly and Ghaziabad would experience cold waves and temperatures are likely to drop by 2 to 3 degrees.
Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
Manali, Dharamshala, Shimla and Bilaspur in HP will remain below 5 degrees Celsius. Isolated regions in Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad would shiver with bone-chilling cold waves and fresh snowfall. Poor visibility and heavy snowfall are likely in most parts of Uttarakhand.
Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam
Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam may experience dense and thick fog during early morning hours.
Weather Update January 11 2026-West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha
Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Begusarai, Khagaria, Katihar, Patna, Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar, Muzaffarpur, Kishanganj, Araria and Purnia would see temperature dropping by 3 to 4 degrees.
Dausa, Alwar, Nagaur, Jaisalmer, Pilani, Jaipur and Lunkaransar will notice temperature dropping below 5 degrees Celsius. Panna, Satna, Rewa, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Datia, Shivpuri, Chhatarpur and and Ashoknagar could see temperature dropping below 5 degrees.
Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu
North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Puducherry, Vizag and Ooty may experience rainfall and cold waves, especially during the early morning hours.
Maharashtra and Goa
Isolated parts in Maharashtra and Goa may notice pleasant weather.
