Weather Update January 4 2026: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a cold day on January 4 for the hilly northern regions of the country.

Weather Update January 4 2026-Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan

Isolated areas in Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Hastinapur, Saharanpur and Meerut are likely to experience dense thick fog. The weather conditions are likely to remain the same and residents can expect chilling waves, especially in early morning and evening hours.

Amritsar, Bijnore, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat and Sonepat are likely to shiver under cold waves.

Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Isolated regions in Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are likely to receive snowfall and mild rainfall. Scattered to moderate snowfall is likely to prevail in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha

The states of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha are likely to be marked by light to moderate fog in early morning and late night hours. West Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness foggy conditions in early morning hours.

Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

Isolated regions in Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam may experience thick fog and cold waves throughout the day.

Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu

Minimum temperatures are likely to go down further, resulting in mild to moderate cold throughout the day.

Maharashtra and Goa

Pleasant weather conditions are likely to prevail in Maharashtra and Goa during morning and afternoon hours with a slight possibility of mild rain in evening or night hours.
