Weather Update January 6 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain or snow at isolated regions in north and central Kashmir.

Weather Update January 6 2026-Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan

Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Hastinapur, Saharanpur and Meerut are likely to witness chilling waves along with thick, dense fog. The minimum temperatures in these areas are likely to drop to 6-8 degrees Celsius.

Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Isolated regions in Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are likely to experience persistent cold spell and a thick blanket of snowfall, especially during the early morning and late night hours. Ground frost conditions at several isolated regions over Uttarakhand are also expected.

Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

The states of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are likely to witness biting cold conditions or thick fog during early morning or late evening/night hours

Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu

Mild to moderate cold throughout the day is likely to prevail in Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu.

Maharashtra and Goa

There is a slight possibility of mild rain in evening or night hours. Weather otherwise will stay pleasant throughout the day.

West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha

Isolated regions in the states of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha are likely to witness severe cold waves throughout early morning and late evening hours. Dense fog during early morning and night hours is also expected.
