The status of the Kalka Shimla National Highway in terms of closure and reopening remains uncertain due to persistent landslides and rockfalls from the mountains. Consequently, an extensive traffic congestion has formed on both the Shimla and Kalka sides. The condition of this route remains unpredictable due to the consistently adverse weather conditions. The Shoghi-Mehli bypass road has been rendered non-operational due to a landslide. Moreover, the Khalini to Tutikandi road and the Police Lines Kaithu road are also inaccessible for vehicles.
