There are a lot of cases of influenza that are being seen in Delhi, especially the H1N1 strain is becoming very common now. As per the latest report released by the health department of Delhi, 2,729 cases of H1N1 infections have been recorded up to August 27. A total of 3,736 cases of influenza A and B have been reported, which means almost three-fourths of the cases are due to H1N1 infection.

Increasing Number of Cases of H1N1
It has been noted that the rise in cases of H1N1 is the reason for the rise in cases of influenza in Delhi. In just one day of August 27, 125 new cases of H1N1 infection have been reported and 149 cases of influenza infections. It has been advised by the health experts to be very careful, but there is no need to panic about these cases.
Recognize the Common Symptoms
H1N1 causes symptoms similar to other seasonal flu infections, which include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, fatigue, and a runny or congested nose. If you experience persistent or severe symptoms, then it is advisable to see the doctor rather than self-medicating.
Precautionary Measures You Must Take
According to the Delhi Medical Association, you must take precautionary measures, which include maintaining good respiratory and personal hygiene. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze and wash your hands regularly. Make sure that you do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people when you have influenza symptoms and avoid going out in public spaces.
Avoid Self-Medication
It has been specifically cautioned by doctors not to take antibiotics or antiviral medicines without consulting a doctor. Antiviral medicine does not work on influenza, which is caused by a virus, while antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections.
