Jaipur News: Sushil Gurjar, the spouse of Munesh Gurjar, the mayor of the Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation, and two other people have been detained by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of 2 lakh in exchange for providing a property lease. According to a police complaint, Sushil Gurjar demanded 2 lakh from the complainant through his agents Narayan Singh and Anil Dubey in order to hasten the acceptance of a lease application for a plot. On the basis of the complaint, authorities set a trap and detained the individuals.
ACB Unearths Over 40 Lakh at Sushil Gurjar's Residence
Over 40 lakh rupees in cash were found by officials during a search of Sushil Gurjar's home. Cash worth more than 8 lakh was found in Narayan Singh's house. The homes and other properties of the accused are among the several places being searched by various ACB teams.
Congress-Controlled Jaipur Heritage Corporation Embroiled in Bribery Case
The Prevention of Corruption Act case has been filed, and more inquiries are being conducted. A Congress board oversees the Municipal Corporation Jaipur Heritage. Munesh Gurjar and a few other Congress councillors protested the corporation's then-commissioner in June and charged him with corruption. They had also organised a dharna at the corporate offices, calling for the officer to be punished.
