Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired a review meeting of the state’s Excise and Prohibition Department, issuing a series of directions aimed at strengthening the department’s functioning, increasing revenue, and curbing illegal activities.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite the recruitment process for Excise Constables. He also directed the department to quickly fill vacant posts of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and other pending positions to improve administrative efficiency.
Directs Faster Recruitment and Measures to Boost Revenue
Hemant Soren further asked officials to expand the scope of the Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited (JSBCL) and submit a comprehensive plan to increase state revenue through the adoption of modern technologies.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the need to formulate all necessary departmental policies at the earliest and directed authorities to take strict action against illegally operating establishments involved in violations of excise laws.
In addition to these key directives, Soren issued several other instructions to improve the department’s performance, streamline operations, and strengthen enforcement across the state.
