Jharkhand News: Ranchi Administration Arranges Buses for Students

In a post on social media on August 11, the District Commissioner’s office said the initiative was taken with a focus on the safety and convenience of students returning to their respective districts. The administration said no student who had come from outside Ranchi should be left stranded, helpless or forced to struggle to find a way home.

According to the administration, buses have been arranged for students travelling towards Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad and Giridih. Bus registration numbers and driver contact details have also been shared to help students identify and coordinate with the designated transport.

The district administration also listed several reserve local buses that can be deployed when required.

Officials said the students are considered part of the wider community and that their safety, convenience and safe return home remain a priority for the administration. Students requiring assistance have been advised to contact the district administration and make use of the designated transportation facilities.

Social Media Reactions

The announcement also triggered mixed reactions on social media. While the administration presented the arrangements as a measure to ensure students’ safety, some users questioned the circumstances surrounding the students’ arrival in Ranchi and criticised the move.

One commenter questioned why the students had travelled to Ranchi, while another alleged that transportation arrangements had earlier been disrupted when students were arriving for the protest. A third user also posted a political remark directed at the district administration.
