JP Nadda with Former Himachal Pradesh CM visits the flood-affected areas in Mandi

BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda visited the flood affected area in Kullu and Mandi district on Friday. During this, he took feedback from the officials regarding the relief work. NHAI Regional Officer Shimla Abdul Basit and NHAI Project Director Mandi Varun Chari briefed BJP National President JP Nadda about the status of damage caused to Mandi-Kullu National Highway due to floods. Varun Chari said that it is taking time to restore Mandi-Kullu National Highway near 4th Mile, but work is in progress to restore it soon.

Apart from this, traffic has been restored everywhere, motorable roads have been opened. Nadda said that Mandi-Kullu National Highway should be restored soon so that tourists and public do not face any problem. Officials said that 120 machinery have been deployed from Nerchowk to Manali so that the road is not obstructed. 8 to 10 machinery has been deployed near 6 Mile. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur and former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur were also present on the occasion.

Vehicles will now run according to the timetable on the Bajaura-Kandi-Kataula route


Vehicles are being evacuated from the alternate route following the closure of Mandi-Kullu NH. One-way traffic has been restored on the Bajaura-Kandi-Kataula road. Due to excessive pressure of vehicles on the road, there is a jam. In such a situation, now the police has issued a timetable regarding the traffic. Due to this, till the restoration of the main road, there will be movement of vehicles under this arrangement.

Vehicles will be sent from Bajaura towards Kandi-Kataula Mandi from 9:00 am to 11:00 am daily. Vehicles will be released from Kandi-Kataula towards Bajaura Kullu from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. After that again from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm vehicles will be taken out from Bajaura towards Kandi-Kataula and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm from Kandi-Kataula towards Bajaura.

During this period, except for the vehicles supplying only diesel-petrol and LPG gas, other heavy vehicles will not be able to move. Action will also be taken for non-compliance as per rules. Additional Superintendent of Police Mandi Sagar Chandra said that people stranded towards Kullu are being evacuated via Kamand Kataula road. But due to the huge number of tourist vehicles, we have to face traffic jam for hours. Therefore, time table has been prepared for restoration of one-way traffic between Kandi-Kataula and Bajaura at a time.
