The wait for the 17th installment of the Ladki Bahin Yojana continues, leaving 2.63 crore women in Maharashtra anxious. With half of December already gone and the November installment still pending, beneficiaries have been eager for clarity. The state government has now issued an important update.
Here’s the Latest Update from Maharashtra Government
According to the latest information, the Maharashtra government will release both the 17th and 18th installments together in December. This means women will receive ₹1,500 for November + ₹1,500 for December, totaling ₹3,000 directly into their bank accounts.
However, the government has not yet announced the exact date of the payment but has assured that both months’ installments will be credited together.
Why is the Payment Delayed?
The delay is linked to large-scale discrepancies detected in the beneficiary list of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. To ensure only eligible women receive the benefits, the government initiated a thorough verification process.
Beneficiaries were given two months to complete their e-KYC, with the deadline set for 18 November. But due to technical issues, more than 1 crore women were unable to complete their e-KYC within the given time.
Because of this, the government could not release the 17th installment in November.
To ensure maximum coverage, the Maharashtra government has now extended the e-KYC deadline to 31 December. This extension aims to make sure all eligible women can complete the process and continue receiving the scheme’s benefits.
