Mumbai Weather Updates: The residents of Mumbai are fighting several odds. As many homes got submerged, the present crisis regarding shortages of basic needs like food and water has kept the people wrestling. The incessant rainfalls created a situation wherein the normal activities involving commuting, office work, and basic chores were severely hampered.

Meteorological Department Forecasts Continued Rainfall

The Meteorological Department has expressed the view that the rains will continue for the next few days. This incessant rainfall has now become a severe tribulation to the people of Mumbai, for it shows how necessary rain may sometimes become a catastrophe if it crosses this limit. Owing to the heavy waterlogging, there are pockets of inundation in different areas of the city, which has exacerbated the woes of citizens.

Apart from the misery of the city, the rains have also brought about a landslide near Tamhini Ghat on the Raigad-Pune road. The landslide caused a temporary stoppage of traffic along the route as the authorities clear the rubble. Raigad police are on the spot, clearing the obstruction to restore normalcy on this crucial road. The situation is still critical as rain-battered Mumbai goes through this crisis, and relentless rainfall has caused continuous challenges and disruptions.

IMD Issues Orange and Yellow Alerts

The India Meteorological Department issued an Orange alert for Maharashtra while the relentless rainfall and heavy disruptions continued in the state. Another Yellow alert has been issued by the IMD for Mumbai. It forecasts that there could be moderate to heavy rain over the city and its suburbs for the next two days. Mumbai braced for more heavy showers since continuous rain overnight added to the woes.

The incessant rains have already had serious repercussions. Four people have died in rain-related incidents in Pune district. The unending spell of rain from Wednesday has caused waterlogging in many parts of the city, making life difficult for citizens.
