Man with two wives: According to a lawyer affiliated with the family court in Gwalior city, a man and two women, including his first wife, have decided to live peacefully in two separate houses by dividing three days each week between them and also giving the man the liberty to spend the seventh day with the woman of his choice. Yet, according to Hindu law, the “arrangement” between them is illegal, according to counsellor and advocate Harish Diwan. The account of the two ladies and a guy, an engineer, came to light after the man remarried a female colleague in Gurugram after leaving his wife in Gwalior during the COVID-19 epidemic, according to Harish Diwan.
First marriage occurred in 2018
His first marriage occurred in 2018 to a woman from Gwalior, and they lived together for two years. During COVID, he revealed he sent his wife to her parents’ house and returned to Gurgaon. When he did not return to take her lawfully married wife until 2020, she became suspicious and went to his Gurugram office. Harish Diwan explained that she discovered he had married a coworker and that a girl had been born during this time. The woman publicly battled with the man and denounced his second marriage in the office. He claims she then sought justice in Gwalior’s family court.
Man gave both wife each a flat
Her spouse was later summoned to Gwalior. Despite counselling, the man refused to leave the second woman, according to Harish Diwan. His wife and the second woman were counselled, but he claimed they were not ready to understand. Subsequently, the trio reached a deal under which the man will spend three days a week with his wife and three days with the lady he supposedly married, with the option to live with the woman of his choosing on Sunday, according to Diwan. He gave his wife and the other woman each a flat in Gurugram and agreed to split his earnings equally with them, according to Harish Diwan.
Family court nor the counsellor are involved
When asked if this arrangement has any legal standing, Harish Diwan replied, “This agreement was reached via mutual consent among the three of them. Neither the family court nor the counsellor are involved.” “In reality, the three were told unequivocally that they are Hindus and that their agreement is prohibited under Hindu law. According to the law, a Hindu man cannot marry another woman until he has legally divorced his previous wife, but they chose to go forward with their contract “Harish Diwan elaborated.
