Lucknow News: Patient asked to undergo Chemo with No Cancer

Lucknow News:In a most shocking News, a patient was asked to undergo chemotherapy when she had no signs of cancer. The case pertains to a patient who is known as Rani Gupta who hails from Lakhimpur Kheri. She had to undergo a surgery for lump in the year 2007. After being discharged, she was advised to visit a Senior Doctor in KGMU. Before this, the patient has also got a surgery done in the year 2004 to remove lump from her left breast. That time only a normal tumor was detected in the Report.

Patient was advised Chemotherapy by the Doctor during Follow-Up

However when the Patient showed her Medical Reports to the doctors in KGMU, doctor asked her to get an X-Ray, Blood Test and ultrasound done. After seeing the reports, he asked her to undergo chemotherapy. The Patient had then gone for chemotherapy in Jan1to Jan3 in the year 2008. She was asked to come with a Follow Up Report in February. The victim took second opinion from Doctors who told her she never had signs of cancer.

Consumer Court asked the Doctor to Pay Compensation within a Month

After this the patient moved the Consumer Commission, based on the complaint at the Consumer Commission, the KGMU found a committee and found out that the alleged doctor only asked her to go for ultrasound and blood tests. The Consumer Commission had asked the doctor to pay the compensation to the victim within a month.
