Lucknow News: Residents complain of High Power Bills, MVVNL claims no lapses; what should the consumer do?

Lucknow News: More than 500 Residents of Lucknow are struggling with High Power Bills despite of less usage from their end. They have also registered their complaint with the MVVNL ( Mandhyanchal Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Limited) and they have been assured that the meter will be replaced but according to many residents its has not been done so far. According to the officials of the MVVNL, consumers can ask for a meter replacement if they think their meter is not functioning properly, it is changed by the officials. Many consumers feel that they are receiving such high bills due to the fault in meters.

Residents Complaint of Faulty Meters

If a consumer feels that their Meter is not showing the correct reading then, the MVVNL officials will check the reading for 7-15 days and this way they will be able to know if the meter is giving correct reading or not. Everyday more and more residents are complaining of faulty meters and high power bills. According to officials, poor wiring and old electrical equipment lead to the fast running of meters.

MVVNL: Faulty Meters are replaced on immediate basis

The Director of the Vidyut Nagar Nigam said that there is no shortage of meters. As soon as the consumer registers complaint, officials take immediate action and provide New Meters.
