Lucknow News: Tragic Patient Death Leads to Closure of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Reacts

Lucknow News: The district administration in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, gave the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital a closure order after a patient died there. The patient's death precipitated the closure. After undergoing anaesthetic before to a stone procedure, Divya Shukla fell into a coma. She was then sent to Lucknow's Medanta Hospital, where she passed away. After she passed away, her family organised a protest outside the hospital, calling for action against the hospital administration and financial support of Rs 1 crore.

Legal Action and Closure Follow Patient's Tragic Death at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital

In response, a lawsuit was filed against four Sanjay Gandhi Hospital employees and a notice of closure was sent. As a result, all inpatient patients were discharged and the outpatient department (OPD) services were stopped. In the meanwhile, police officers have been stationed at the hospital for security concerns. A memorandum requesting the reinstatement of the hospital's licence has been sent to the governor by a few Congress leaders and employees through the district magistrate.

Political Controversy Surrounds Closure of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, UP Deputy CM Responds

They asserted that the hospital's closure was motivated by politics and threatened to stir up trouble in the community if the decision was not overturned. UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak commented on the situation, saying, "A local committee has performed a thorough investigation into the matter, and after that, action was taken against the hospital. We are restoring order to the state's hospitals.
