Ludhiana Heist Suspects Identified Through Free Drink Scheme

Mandeep Kaur and her husband Jaswinder Singh were reportedly planning to flee to Nepal, according to information provided to Punjab Police. But first, they were going to several shrines, including Hemkunt Sahib, Kedarnath, and Haridwar. They were both at the Sikh shrine in Uttarakhand, but it was hard to spot them both in the throng of worshippers. The police so devised a scheme to provide pilgrims with free drinks. The accused couple then started to walk towards the beverage stand. They had to reveal their faces to take the drinks since they were trying to avoid being seen with their faces covered. The police were then able to identify them. Interestingly, after being identified, Mandeep Kaur and Jaswinder Singh were not detained right away. Police permitted them to make their respects at Hemkund Sahib. The couple was only thereafter pursued by the police for a considerable distance. ‘Let’s catch the queen bee,’ was the slogan used to describe the operation to capture them. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, the commissioner of police in Ludhiana, reported that he recovered Rs. 12 lakh from Mandeep Kaur’s two-wheeler and Rs. 9 lakh from the Barnala home of her husband Jaswinder Singh.
