15 UP laborers returning home for Diwali were killed in an accident in Rewa

In a tragic accident, a bus going towards Uttar Pradesh collided with a truck, killing 15 laborers and injuring over 35 others. On Friday at 11.30 p.m., the accident happened close to Teonthar town. Many of the survivors have suffered severe injuries. Workers traveling home in advance of Diwali to spend the festival with their families made up the majority of the bus’s passengers.

The bus, which was traveling from Hyderabad to Gorakhpur, struck a stopped trailer truck on NH 30 close to the Sohagi Ghati area, according to the police.

Twelve individuals died at the scene of the accident, while two more died en route to a nearby hospital in Rewa. Later, one more person succumbed to injuries at the hospital,” Rewa collector Manoj Pushp told PTI.

As soon as police officers in Sohagi learned about the accident, a rescue effort was started.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, called Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and updated him on the incident, an official said.

The badly injured people are receiving treatment in a government hospital in Rewa, Chouhan informed the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Chouhan informed him that the Madhya Pradesh government would cover the expense of the affected people’s medical care.

Those who had minor wounds received initial care before being transported on another bus to Prayagraj. He stated that the victims’ bodies were also being brought to Prayagraj.
