Abortion, Insurance Money And Mysterious Death, New Twist In Twisha Sharma’s Case? As Husband Speaks Up, CBI Takes Over

Twisha Sharma had every reason to believe life was on the up, and up. The 33-year-old model and former Miss Pune, a resident of Noida, tied the knot with Samarth Singh, a lawyer from Bhopal, in December 2025 after the couple connected on an online dating platform. Five months later, her body was found hanging on the night of May 12th. The post-mortem ruled hanging as the cause of death. It was a murder, said her family.

Dowry, Forced Abortion and Unanswered Questions

The complaint says the harassment over dowry demands started as early as February 2026, weeks after the marriage. Twisha’s family says she was regularly teased for her family’s wedding spending not meeting expectations, and was denied personal spending money as her father sent money to her account just to keep her afloat.

Then April came. Twisha became pregnant – and, from the FIR, her husband Samarth questioned the paternity of the baby, alleging an extra-marital affair. According to reports, Twisha underwent an abortion in the first week of May after sustained pressure from both her husband and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh. And then a week later, she died.

Husband Talks, Court Orders Second Autopsy

As investigators closed in, Samarth Singh spoke out, but the details of his public statements have done little to dispel suspicion. Police have seized WhatsApp chats and are probing Twisha’s last hours in detail. The first autopsy confirmed the hanging was antemortem – she was alive when hanged.

Supreme Court Monitors, CBI Intervenes

Twisha Sharma:The Supreme Court, citing concerns about potential institutional bias. The FIR was formally re-registered by CBI, naming accused Samarth Singh and his mother and a Special Investigation Team headed by a CBI DIG was constituted and started its inquiry at Bhopal on May 26. Twisha’s family welcomed the development as their first real ray of hope.
