Bharat Jodo Yatra: After travelling across the southern states for more than two months, the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is being led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, entered Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

As the foot procession entered Madhya Pradesh from Maharashtra, a sizable group of Congressmen arrived at Bodarli hamlet with the tricolour.


The 12-day yatra was officially launched in the central state of Madhya Pradesh by Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole handing over the tricolour to Madhya Pradesh party chairman Kamal Nath. The yatra would traverse a distance of 380 kilometres before entering Rajasthan.

Against hatred, violence and fear- Rahul Gandhi on Bharat Jodo Yatra

Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd, saying, "This yatra is against hatred, violence and fear being spread in the country. We have started the Bharat Jodo Yatra by taking the tricolour in our hands from Kanyakumari. Nobody can stop this tricolour from reaching Srinagar."

After a two-day pause, the Gandhi scion and hundreds of Congress workers resumed their march. Senior leaders Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath joined them.


Govind Singh, the leader of the opposition in the MP Assembly, as well as former union ministers Suresh Pachouri and Arun Yadav were present.

Rahul Gandhi will meet with banana growers and power loom workers in Burhanpur district later today, according to a tweet from Congress General Secretary Incharge of Communication Jairam Ramesh.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to join brother for the first time in Bharat Jodo Yatra

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress responsible for Uttar Pradesh, will take part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra for the first time with her family. On November 24–25, Priyanka, Rahul Gandhi's sister, will participate in the foot march from Burhanpur to Indore.

Assembly elections are scheduled for Madhya Pradesh next year, thus the Congress has made significant preparations for the yatra there. After some of its MLAs left the party in 2020, it had lost control of the state.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7 at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, is currently in its 77th day, on November 23.
