Bhopal News: Innovative Start-up Empowers Women with Affordable Sanitary Napkins

Two young entrepreneurs from the city, Anurag and Virag, have pioneered a start-up named “Tag Innovation Machine,” focused on producing sanitary napkins at an incredibly low cost. The sanitary napkins offered by this start-up are not only economical but also easily accessible to women in the market.

According to Virag, the inspiration for this start-up came when Anurag Bohare came across a similar low-cost machine in Jaipur. After working on the idea, the duo successfully brought it to fruition. They initiated the process by researching raw materials to simplify the production and spent a year gathering information from various sources.

Virag reveals that creating the start-up incurred an approximate cost of 1.5 million INR. The machine’s construction presented several challenges, and during this period, they had no external support. The funding process also posed significant difficulties. However, they managed to secure scholarships for the machine’s production costs. Additionally, finding a suitable space to house the machine was another hurdle, which they overcame by establishing the production unit in a 5,000 square feet area in Bhind village. The machine, now operational, has not only resulted in the production of cost-effective sanitary napkins but has also provided employment opportunities for numerous women in the Bhind village.

Eco-Friendly Operation Powered by Solar Energy

Virag emphasizes the commitment to cleanliness in their production, using dyes instead of chemicals for hygiene purposes. The production of thousands of napkins daily is facilitated by a machine powered by solar energy, reflecting the start-up’s dedication to eco-friendly practices.

Scale of Production and Market Penetration

Virag proudly states that they have successfully sold over 150 machines across various parts of the country. The machine operates for 8 to 10 hours per shift, producing 2,000 to 5,000 sanitary pads daily, contributing significantly to meeting the demand for affordable and accessible sanitary products nationwide.
