In a significant step toward enhancing urban transport infrastructure, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday conducted an on-site inspection of the Bhopal Metro project, reaffirming the government’s commitment to launching metro services by October 2025.
The Chief Minister also participated in a test run of the metro train, which was carried out from Subhash Nagar Metro Station to AIIMS and on the return route to Rani Kamalapati Station. This marks a major milestone in the final phase of preparations ahead of the official launch.
Metro to Boost Urban Connectivity
Yadav stated that the project is progressing steadily toward its goal, and the people of Bhopal will soon benefit from the state-of-the-art metro connectivity.
“We are moving toward fulfilling our target of launching metro services for Bhopal residents by October this year,” CM Yadav posted on social media.
Final Works Underway
During the visit, Yadav issued clear instructions to Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) officials to expedite the remaining construction and technical work. The project, which is expected to decongest the city and provide a comfortable, fast, and eco-friendly transport option, is being executed in phases.
The Bhopal Metro is part of the state’s larger vision to modernize public transportation and reduce traffic-related challenges in major urban areas like Bhopal and Indore.
Once operational, the metro is expected to significantly cut travel time, promote green mobility, and improve the overall quality of life for Bhopal’s growing population.
