Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, met with a delegation in Tokyo on Tuesday to explore investment prospects for his state. The meeting highlighted growing business ties between Madhya Pradesh and Japan, paving the way for future collaborations.
Strengthening Business Ties Between Madhya Pradesh and Japan
In his address, CM Mohan Yadav emphasised the strong and expanding business relations between Madhya Pradesh and Japan. He pointed out that in the 2023-24 financial year, Madhya Pradesh exported goods worth $92.8 million to Japan, including products like aluminium, pharmaceuticals, and machinery.
Madhya Pradesh's Growing Economy and Policy Changes
The Chief Minister also discussed the significant economic growth Madhya Pradesh has witnessed in recent years. He mentioned that the state’s economy has tripled in the last decade and is on track to double again within the next five years. To encourage investments, the state has introduced policies focused on attracting businesses, particularly in sectors such as garment, logistics, food processing, ethanol, IT, pharma, and medical devices.
Invitation to the Global Investors Summit
CM Yadav further extended an invitation to Japanese investors for the upcoming Global Investors Summit scheduled for February 24-25. The event will be held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the goal of bringing global investors to Madhya Pradesh.
Appreciating Japan's Resilience and Historical Ties
CM Yadav also praised Japan for its resilience in overcoming natural disasters, highlighting the long-standing cultural and historical connection between Japan and India. He reminded the audience that both nations share a deep-rooted bond through the teachings of Gautam Buddha.
The Chief Minister's visit to Japan is expected to enhance Madhya Pradesh’s position as an attractive investment destination, marking a significant step in fostering international trade and collaboration.
