Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls 2023: 2489 Candidates Submit 2811 Nomination Papers on Last Day

On the last day for nominations in preparation for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, a significant number of candidates filed their nomination papers, reflecting the intense political activity in the state. A total of 2489 candidates submitted 2811 nomination papers across Madhya Pradesh. The state capital, Bhopal, witnessed an influx of candidates, with 121 contenders filing nominations for seven assembly constituencies. The nomination process for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023 commenced on October 21 and came to a close on October 30. During this period, a cumulative of 3832 candidates filed 4359 nomination papers.

2489 Candidates Submit 2811 Nomination Papers on Last Day

The next step in the electoral process is the scrutiny of these nomination papers, which is slated for October 31. Following that, candidates will have until November 2 to withdraw their nominations. Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states in India scheduled to hold elections this year, contributing to the heightened political fervor. The state’s election is set to occur in a single phase on November 17, with the vote counting process scheduled for December 3. Voters across the state will select their representatives for the 230 Assembly constituencies.

This substantial number of nominations signifies the intense competition among political parties and candidates in Madhya Pradesh, as they vie for the opportunity to lead the state.
