Officials noted that timely compensation is crucial for recovery and continuity in farming activities.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has highlighted a series of welfare measures aimed at strengthening farmers and boosting agricultural growth in the state. The government emphasized that farmer-centric policies remain at the core of its development agenda, with a focus on financial support and risk protection.

Mohan Yadav: ₹12,000 annual assistance to over 84 lakh farmers

According to official data, more than 84 lakh farmers are receiving ₹12,000 annually under combined benefits of central and state schemes, including PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana.

Officials said this direct financial support is helping farmers manage agricultural expenses. It also ensures income stability.

Bonus and incentives on key crops

The government has announced additional incentives to support crop production. Farmers are receiving a ₹40 per quintal bonus on wheat and ₹4,000 per hectare incentive on paddy.

In addition, procurement of moong and urad is being carried out at Minimum Support Price (MSP), with an extra ₹600 bonus on urad. These steps aim to improve farmer earnings.

Soybean procurement and price support

For the first time, soybean is being procured at MSP in Madhya Pradesh. The government has also provided ₹1,500 crore under the Bhavantar payment scheme to compensate farmers for price differences. Experts believe such measures help protect farmers from market volatility. They also encourage crop diversification.

Disaster relief and financial assistance

Over 24 lakh farmers have received ₹2,106 crore as disaster relief. This assistance aims to support farmers affected by natural calamities. Officials noted that timely compensation is crucial for recovery and continuity in farming activities.

Zero-interest crop loans and insurance coverage

The state is providing crop loans at 0% interest, benefiting a large number of farmers. Additionally, around 1.79 crore farmers are covered under crop insurance schemes. Authorities stated that these initiatives reduce financial risk and provide security against crop loss.

Strengthening agricultural ecosystem

The Madhya Pradesh government continues to focus on strengthening the agricultural ecosystem through financial aid, procurement support, and insurance coverage.

Experts say that integrated policies are essential for sustainable agricultural growth. They help improve productivity and farmer confidence.

Towards a prosperous farming community

The initiatives are aimed at empowering farmers and enhancing their income. The government believes that a strong agricultural sector is key to overall economic development.

Officials indicated that further steps will be taken to support farmers. The goal is to ensure long-term prosperity and resilience in the sector.
