Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the state has emerged as the leading wheat procurement state in the country this year, with procurement from more than 10 lakh farmers already completed.
According to the Chief Minister, the state government is also ensuring timely payment to farmers for their produce, emphasizing its commitment toward supporting the agricultural sector and protecting farmers’ interests.
Mohan Yadav: Record wheat procurement in the state
Officials stated that Madhya Pradesh has successfully procured more than 63 lakh metric tonnes of wheat so far during the ongoing procurement season.
The government added that nearly 5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat are being procured daily, reflecting the scale of operations being carried out across procurement centres in the state.
Payments exceeding ₹11,000 crore
The state government said that over ₹11,623 crore has already been paid to farmers against wheat procurement, ensuring faster financial support to cultivators.
Target of 100 lakh metric tonnes
Authorities stated that Madhya Pradesh is moving toward achieving its target of 100 lakh metric tonnes of wheat procurement by May 23.
Focus on farmer welfare
Mohan Yadav said the government remains focused on ensuring farmers receive fair value for their hard work while strengthening procurement systems and agricultural infrastructure across the state.

Agriculture continues to play a major role in Madhya Pradesh’s economy, with the state consistently ranking among the country’s major wheat-producing regions.
