Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the top-performing state in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), according to information shared by the state’s Urban Development and Housing Department. The achievement highlights the state government’s continued focus on providing permanent housing to urban families and improving living standards across cities and towns.

The state recorded a 98.04 percent grounding rate under the housing scheme, placing it first in the country. Officials stated that more than 10 lakh houses have been sanctioned so far, while around 9 lakh homes have already been completed and handed over to beneficiaries.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) aims to provide affordable and permanent housing for economically weaker sections, low-income groups, and middle-income families living in urban areas. The initiative is considered one of the flagship housing programmes of the Central Government.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that access to a permanent house strengthens the social and economic security of families. He added that the scheme is helping thousands of beneficiaries achieve the dream of owning a safe and dignified home.
The campaign, promoted by the Madhya Pradesh government through its public outreach platforms, encourages eligible citizens to apply online for housing benefits under PMAY-Urban 2.0. Authorities have also appealed to people to visit the official portal for detailed information regarding eligibility and the application process.
The housing initiative has played a major role in urban development by improving infrastructure, boosting employment opportunities in the construction sector, and enhancing the quality of life for residents across the state.
