The Madhya Pradesh government is set to remove ineligible beneficiaries from the Ladli Behna Yojana, which provides ₹1,250 per month to eligible women aged 21 to 60. Several women were found availing benefits using incorrect documents, and the government has now identified and listed them for removal.
₹1,250 to be Transferred Before March 10
Despite the removal of ineligible women, the good news for eligible beneficiaries is that the government will transfer the monthly installment before March 10. The decision comes in light of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Holi (March 14). It is expected that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will initiate the transfer of funds by March 8.
Previously, in March 2024, the government had released an early installment on March 1 due to Mahashivratri, while the 11th installment was credited on April 5 during Chaitra Navratri and Gudi Padwa. Similarly, the 12th installment was issued on May 4, and the 17th installment was released on October 5, 2024, during Sharadiya Navratri.
Who Will Not Receive the 22nd Installment?
Women who have turned 60 years old as of February 1 will no longer be eligible for the Ladli Behna Yojana. In January 2025, around 3,576 women were already removed from the scheme. Reports indicate that beneficiaries from Agar Malwa, Betul, and Tikamgarh are also seeing their names removed.
However, officials have clarified that some women were mistakenly delisted due to Aadhaar cards getting delinked from the Samagra ID database. Affected beneficiaries will have their cases reviewed, and eligible names will be reinstated on the scheme’s portal.
The Madhya Pradesh government continues to streamline the scheme, ensuring that only eligible women receive benefits while preventing fraudulent claims.
