As part of the ongoing MP Global Dialogue 2025, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday visited Mercabarna, one of Europe’s most advanced food markets, located in Barcelona. The visit marks a significant step in the state’s ambition to transform its agricultural sector through world-class infrastructure and global partnerships.
Focus on Mega Food Parks and Agri-Export Zones
During his visit, CM Yadav held key discussions on developing Mega Food Parks, Agri-Export Zones, and integrated logistics hubs in Madhya Pradesh. The objective is to replicate successful international models, such as Mercabarna, to boost agricultural productivity, minimize post-harvest losses, and improve value-chain efficiency.
Vision for Agricultural Transformation
The Chief Minister emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly advancing toward becoming a national leader in food processing and export infrastructure. The government is actively exploring collaborations for:
Mega Food Parks equipped with processing, packaging, and cold storage facilities
Dedicated Export Zones for agriculture and horticulture produce
Modern logistics hubs to streamline farm-to-market operations
These initiatives are part of a broader push to generate rural employment, attract investment, and make MP a major hub for agri-based industries.
Global Outreach through MP Global Dialogue 2025
The international outreach under MP Global Dialogue 2025 is designed to build stronger economic, agricultural, and industrial ties with global institutions and investors. CM Yadav's visit to Spain is one of several strategic engagements planned to position Madhya Pradesh as a forward-looking, globally connected state.
The discussions in Barcelona are expected to pave the way for technology transfer, knowledge sharing, and future collaborations that will benefit both local farmers and industries.
