MP News: The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has reported a notable decrease in student enrollment for the 10th and 12th board exams this year. Approximately 1.42 lakh fewer students are expected to appear for the exams compared to the previous year.

  • Total Student Participation: In the current academic session, around 16,80,587 students from across the state are set to participate in both the 10th and 12th board exams. This figure is considerably lower than the 18,23,441 students who appeared for the exams in the previous year.
  • Exam Commencement: The board exams for the 10th and 12th grades are scheduled to commence from February 5. A total of 3,866 exam centers have been set up for the high school exams, and 3,637 centers for the higher secondary exams across the state.
  • Exam Paper Distribution: In an effort to maintain the integrity of the examination process, the question papers for the exams will be dispatched to police stations near the examination centers on February 1 and 2. The board has issued guidelines and directions in this regard.
  • Coding System for Papers: This year, the exam papers will feature a new coding system. While the question papers will remain the same, a change in the sequence of codes has been implemented to ensure fairness and prevent malpractices.
  • Highly Sensitive Centers: Out of the designated exam centers, 10 have been classified as highly sensitive, and an additional six as extra-sensitive. Security measures have been enhanced at these centers to maintain a secure and controlled examination environment.
  • Examination Admit Cards: Admit cards for the board exams have been released, and students can download them from the MPBSE portal using their application ID.

The decline in student enrollment for the Madhya Pradesh board exams raises questions about potential factors contributing to this decrease. The board is taking measures to ensure a secure and fair examination process, including the introduction of a new coding system for question papers and heightened security at sensitive centers.
