Investigators stated that the girl had come into contact with one of the accused through a mutual acquaintance. Over time, he reportedly persuaded her to accompany him on a drive and allegedly took her to an isolated area on the outskirts of the city, where the assault took place inside a vehicle. Police suspect the crime was planned, claiming the second accused was positioned nearby and recorded the incident.

According to officers, the video was later used to intimidate the victim and demand cash. The accused allegedly asked for 1 lakh and threatened to circulate the footage if she refused. Police said the minor managed to arrange ₹40,000 but continued to face threats and repeated assaults afterward.

Authorities also revealed that multiple vehicles were used during different instances of the alleged crime, and those vehicles have now been seized for forensic examination. When the girl eventually cut off communication, investigators allege the main accused shared the video with some of her acquaintances and began pressuring her to change her religion.

The matter came to light after the student confided in her family, who approached police to file a complaint. Officers registered a case under stringent legal provisions meant for crimes against minors and initiated a search operation that led to the suspects’ arrest.
