Madhya Pradesh, which saw a brief respite from the scorching heat due to a cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, is now set to experience a heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted hot days and nights across many districts in the state.

Heatwave Conditions Expected in Several Districts

While two western disturbances are expected to form in North India in the coming days, their impact on Madhya Pradesh will be minimal. There might be some cloud cover in a few districts, but no significant relief from the heat is anticipated.

IMD Issues Heatwave Alert

IMD scientist Abhijeet Chakraborty has warned of heatwave conditions in several districts of Madhya Pradesh. Places like Guna, Shivpuri, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Ashoknagar, Jabalpur, Mandla, and Balaghat are likely to experience heatwaves with scorching winds for the next 1-2 days. These districts were also affected by heatwaves on Sunday.

Hot Nights Add to the Woes

The IMD has also predicted hotter nights in Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Umaria, and Balaghat, with night temperatures expected to range between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius. This will be followed by a further rise in temperatures.

Major Cities See Rise in Temperatures

Several major cities in Madhya Pradesh have already witnessed a rise in temperatures. Bhopal recorded a high of 37.7 degrees Celsius, Indore at 36.6 degrees Celsius, Gwalior at 37.5 degrees Celsius, Jabalpur at 37.9 degrees Celsius, and Ujjain at 36.5 degrees Celsius. Notably, Shivpuri recorded its highest temperature for the season so far at 41 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
