The Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, continues to provide financial support to economically weaker families for the marriage of their daughters. With an aim to promote social upliftment and reduce the burden of marriage expenses, the scheme has benefitted lakhs of families across the state.

This welfare initiative is especially targeted at the underprivileged, ensuring that no daughter’s marriage is delayed due to financial hardship.

Eligibility for the Scheme

To apply under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, the following criteria must be met:

The girl must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

She must be at least 18 years old, and the groom must be 21 years or older.

The girl must be unmarried at the time of application.

The family must be Below Poverty Line (BPL) or belong to an economically weaker section as recognized by the government.

Abandoned and widowed women are also eligible under specific conditions.

Benefits Provided

The scheme offers direct and indirect financial aid to support marriage expenses:

₹55,000 is provided as financial assistance per eligible beneficiary.

This includes:

₹48,000 transferred directly into the girl’s bank account.

₹7,000 allocated for purchasing essential household items and organizing marriage-related arrangements.

Eligible couples may also be included in government-organized mass marriage ceremonies, ensuring low-cost, dignified weddings.

How to Apply

Applicants can follow these steps to register for the scheme:

Offline Application:

Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat, or Urban Local Body (ULB) office.

Collect and fill the application form.

Submit required documents:

Aadhaar card (of bride and groom)

Age proof (birth certificate, 10th marksheet)

BPL card or income certificate

Passport-size photographs

Marriage invitation (if available)

Online Application:

Visit the Samagra Portal or the Social Justice Department portal of Madhya Pradesh.

Login using Samagra ID and complete the online application form.

Upload scanned copies of required documents and submit.

After verification, selected applicants receive financial assistance either before the marriage or through participation in an official mass marriage event.
