Weather Update December 29 2025: IMD Predicts Fresh bounty of Snowfall in Hills, Intense Chill in Plains, Is North India Entering Its Harshest Winter Phase?

Weather Update December 29 2025: Hilly states in the northern region would be flooded with fresh snowfall while Delhi and adjoining areas would continue to receive chilly waves.

Weather Update December 29 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that states such as Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh would continue to remain in the blanket of dense fog and cold waves.

Weather Update December 29 2025: J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

The three states are likely to keep receiving fresh snowfall. Minimum temperatures are likely to fall down further and these weather conditions are likely to stay same till January 4.

Isolated places over Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are likely to witness heavy to very heavy snowfall.

Delhi NCR

The entire Delhi NCR – Delhi, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and adjoining areas – region will likely witness chilling, cold waves.

Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab & Uttar Pradesh

The four states are likely to experience chilling, cold waves throughout the morning phase as well as during late evening and night times.

Jaipur, Meerut, Hastinapur, Bijnor and Amritsar are likely to be extremely cold.

Northeast India

Some isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya. Guwahati, Imphal and Agartala would witness dense fog.
