Woman gets money lender Gang-raped by 4 men

In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, a 20-year-old girl, a resident of Jhansi in the neighboring state, was allegedly gang-raped after being taken hostage. Four persons and a woman have been arrested in this case. The girl had lent five lakh rupees to the accused woman. On asking back the money, the woman called her to Chhatarpur where four of his friends gang-raped the girl.

Chhatarpur’s Orchha Road police station in-charge Abhishek Choubey said on Tuesday that the girl, a resident of Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, had allegedly lent five lakh rupees to the accused woman of Chhatarpur. He said that the accused woman used to live on rent in the woman’s Jhansi house a few years ago. The accused woman had promised to return the money to the victim within three months but failed to do so.

When the girl asked for the money back, the woman called her to Chhatarpur on December 9 to settle the matter. When the girl came to Chhatarpur, the woman took her hostage in her house. Thereafter, four male accomplices of the accused woman allegedly thrashed and raped the victim, Choubey said. The accused woman also committed unnatural acts with her.

The officer said that the victim was kept under house arrest for six days on till December 15 and later released after threatening her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. He said that after reaching Jhansi, the victim narrated her ordeal to her family and lodged a police complaint on Monday. Police arrested all the five accused on Tuesday by registering a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
