The Maharashtra government announced the portfolio allocation for cabinet ministers on December 21, 2024. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will oversee crucial departments, including Home, Energy (excluding Renewable Energy), Law & Judiciary, and General Administration. He will also handle Information & Publicity and other departments not assigned to any other minister.

Deputy Chief Ministers' Responsibilities

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been entrusted with Urban Development, Housing, and Public Works (Public Enterprises), highlighting his key role in shaping Maharashtra's infrastructure and housing policies. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will manage Finance & Planning, along with the State Excise department, overseeing the state's fiscal health and revenue generation strategies.

Shri Radhakrushna Vikhe-Patil: Water Resources, focusing on the Godavari and Krishna Valley Development Corporations.

Shri Chandrakant Patil: Higher & Technical Education and Parliamentary Affairs.

Shri Girish Mahajan: Water Resources (Vidarbha, Tapi, and Konkan Development Corporations) and Disaster Management.
