Maharashtra News: 179 Children die in Nandurbar Civil Hospital in Three Months, CMO launches Mission ‘Lakshya 84 Days’

After the deaths of New Born kids in Civil Hospitals, Chief Medical Officer introduces measures to resolve the issue.

Maharashtra News: Expressing Shock after the death of over 179 children in the last few months, the Nandurbur district CMO launches ‘Mission Lakshya 84 Days’ in order to save the life of New Borns. The Chief Medical Officer said that under the mission, they will be monitoring the health of the kids and ensure they will receive proper treatment and care so that their health is not at risk. Apart from the child, we’ll look after the mother since the health of the child is associated with the mother.

Maximum Deaths Reported in the Month of August

According to the CMO, 75 deaths were reported in July, 86 deaths reported in August, 18 deaths were reported in September in the Nandurbur district. There are many reason behind the deaths, low birth weight, birth asphysia, sepsis and many respiratory diseases. Out of these, 78% death are of the babies which were born between 0-28 days.

Child’s Health will be monitored under ‘Mission Lakshya 84 Days’

Many Mothers of the children are suffering from sickle cell which leads to complications during child birth. In order to resolve all these issues, we have launched ‘Mission lakshya 84 Days’ in which our main purpose is to save the life of the New Borns and provide them healthy diet and care.
