Rising Water Levels and Embankment Deterioration

The Ganga River has been in flood for the past three days as a result of the nonstop rain. The Ganga's water level had risen to two lakh cusecs by Tuesday. As a result, the raw embankment's state had deteriorated significantly in numerous locations. The Ganga's water level from the Bijnor Barrage surpassed one lakh 68 thousand cusecs at the same moment, on Wednesday around 3 p.m. On Wednesday, the Ganges embankment crumbled near the village of Sirjepur. The village was partially submerged. Water has also reached the surrounding villages of Sirjopur, including Hadipur Gaondi, Kishanpur, Latifpur, Bhimkund, Dudhli Khadar, Rathora Kala, etc. Around the villages, the entire forest was submerged. Water was also placed into the straw stock that was positioned around the settlement.

Farmers Struggle for Cow Fodder as Floods Inundate Village Roads and Fields

Farmers are having a lot of difficulty getting cow fodder at the same time. The village approach road is covered in three to four feet of water. The officers who arrived in the area began transporting the inhabitants to a safe location based on the villagers' knowledge. The Ganga's water level continued to progressively drop until dusk, but the Patwan water cutoff process persisted. Officers, Revenue, and Irrigation Department representatives are on the scene and keeping an eye on things. ADM Administration Suryakant Tripathi, SDM Akhilesh Yadav, Naib Tehsildar Sachin Chaudhary, Lekhpal Neeraj, and Jitendra Verma arrived at the scene after receiving information about an embankment break near the Hastinapur village of Sirjepur. Following that, an effort was made to stop the water by putting plastic clay bags on the collapsed embankment with the assistance of workers. However, the Ganges' enormous water level made it impossible for the water to stop flowing. Water was able to reach numerous settlements and woods as a result.
