In a significant move aimed at empowering the youth of Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission, which has been approved by the state cabinet. The commission will focus on creating more employment opportunities, enhancing skill development, and advising the government on youth-related policies.
The Commission Is About Play A Key Role
According to the Chief Minister, the commission will play a key role in advising the state government on all matters concerning the upliftment and well-being of the youth. It will work in coordination with various government departments to ensure access to quality education, skill training, and job opportunities for young people across the state.
Key Features of the Commission:
The commission will comprise one chairperson, two vice-chairpersons, and seven members, all under the maximum age of 45 years.
It will monitor and ensure that local youth are prioritized in private sector jobs within Bihar.
The commission will also protect the interests of students and workers from Bihar who study or work outside the state.
A major mandate will include preparing programs to curb social evils like alcohol and drug abuse and making relevant recommendations to the government.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasized that the commission is a forward-looking initiative designed to make the youth self-reliant, skilled, and employment-ready. He added that by addressing both employment generation and social issues, the Bihar Youth Commission will play a transformative role in securing the future of the state’s younger generation.
