Noida Authority’s Vision for Next 50 Years of Connectivity, Ambitious Plan to Connect with Delhi and NCR

Noida News

Noida News: In order to create a report on a comprehensive regional mobility plan for its proposed high-speed networks under the three industrial authorities—Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna—that would connect the city with nearby Ghaziabad, Delhi, and other NCR areas, the Noida Authority will soon hire a consultant.

Seamless Connectivity Planning

In order to enable seamless connectivity for the next 50 years, the consultant will examine traffic and population growth, find new road options, upgrade the current traffic infrastructure, and improve the current railway network. To hire the consultant, Noida has released a request for proposals (RFP). A study conducted by Noida 25 years ago found that it took an average of 35 to 40 minutes to get from the NCR district areas to Delhi.

Impact of Infrastructure Development

Despite the construction of several speedways, including the DND Flyway, Noida Motorway, and Delhi-Meerut Motorway, to facilitate travel owing to an increase in traffic volume, among other factors, the commuting time has increased to 90 to 120 minutes. According to the RFP document, there will be more direct connections between the area and New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport as a result of the development of the Noida International Airport in Jewar. “Therefore, it has become important to plan the regional mobility for the next 50 years and prepare a proposal for high-speed connectivity,” it said.

Strategic Emphasis on Logistics and Freight Movement

Logistics and freight movement will become essential given the region’s importance as an industrial hub. The area’s quick development may also be facilitated by a number of infrastructure initiatives, such as the construction of a dedicated freight corridor, multimodal logistics centres, and transportation hubs. In addition, the Yamuna Motorway area’s expansion will result in the creation of two new greenfield cities: Dadri Noida Ghaziabad Investment Region and Greater Noida Extension, which together will create a sizable megalopolis.

Key Projects Under Feasibility Study

The consultant will research and draft feasibility reports for the following projects: the Rapid Transit System between NIA and the proposed Film City in Sector 21, the Greater Noida West metro extension, the Greater Noida to Noida International Airport metro and the interchange at EPE and Yamuna motorway. Additionally, the consultant will provide long-term visions and goals for desirable urban and economic development in the region as well as identify project ideas, concepts, and themes that would qualify as “traffic solutions” for the entire region.

Resource Allocation Analysis

In order to maximise resource allocation and guarantee easy and affordable access to places of employment and education, the consultant will conduct a thorough analysis of all available forms of transport. Yamuna, Greater Noida, and Noida are the three authorities that have been developed as integrated townships. By 2031, the population of these cities is expected to be approximately 2.8 million in Noida, 2.8 million in Greater Noida, and 1 million in the Yamuna Motorway region, according to their master plans.
