Noida News: Relief for 35 Societies! Builders No Longer Collecting Fees from 40000 Families

Noida News

Noida News: Builders will no longer be allowed to collect power payments for shared areas from residents of 35 societies after 100% multiple connections. Only other common facilities will be subject to additional fees from the builder. After learning about such a case in one of the Noida city’s societies, the Electricity Corporation took this action.

Electricity Corporation Campaign Brings Relief to 40 Thousand Users in NOIDA’s 35 Societies

The Electricity Corporation has waged a campaign on a war footing over the past few weeks and provided numerous connections to over 40 thousand users in roughly 35 societies throughout the city. These societies’ residents now pay their Electricity Corporation bills directly. In these cultures, a fresh incident is being made public at the same moment. A resident of Seven X Society named Ashish Kumar claimed that the Electricity Corporation was taking money from his pre-paid metre to pay the electricity bill for the common area. The builder is continuing to collect the whole cost at the same time.

Power Corporation Orders Builder Not to Collect Common Area Power Costs

Following the Consumer Council’s intervention, the power Corporation issued an order to all such societies stating that the power cost for the common area will not be collected by the builder in cases when 100% multiple connections have been provided. If this is done, the 2005 Electricity Supply Code’s regulations will be broken. Officials claim that up till this point, connections under the Multiple Connection Scheme have been provided in places like Ajnara, Cape Town, Zodiac, Apex, Sikka Karmic Green, Panchsheel Apartment, etc.

Application Process for Multiple Connection Programme in Builder Communities

People who live in builder communities must fill out a consumer connection form and submit it to the closest electricity sub-station in order to receive a connection under the multiple connection programme. The procedure of granting connections under the Multiple Connection Scheme will begin in the society after the connection forms from 51% of the population have been received.

Protecting Society Residents from Arbitrary Recovery by Builders

In August 2018, the Multiple Connection Scheme was put into place by the Electricity Corporation for the convenience of those living in building societies. Residents of the society can use this to connect with the Electricity Corporation directly and to pay for electricity. The society’s citizens are now protected against the builder’s arbitrary recovery thanks to this.

Electricity Corporation’s Decisive Move

According to Executive Engineer Shivam Tripathi of the Electricity Corporation, in a community where there are 100% of multiple connections, the builder will not be able to recover the cost of the electricity used in the common areas. Complain if this is taking on in your society. Rajeev Singh, president of NOFA, claimed that the Electricity Corporation had made a decent decision for the comfort of those residing in the builder society. As a result, the society’s citizens won’t have to pay their electricity bills twice.
