Explosive Allegations by Omar Abdullah
During the meeting with the party supporters, Omar Abdullah stated that one of the BJP party leaders, who is also a Supreme Court lawyer, tried to lure one of the NC MLA’s belonging to Jammu with offers of Rupees 20-30 crore, a ministerial position and statehood. It was further alleged that the MLA rejected the offer and told Mr. Abdullah about the entire matter.

There Will Be No Back Door Entry’
Launching a strong attack on the BJP, Abdullah accused the party of trying to gain power in Jammu and Kashmir through the “back door.” He asserted that the people had given the National Conference its mandate and warned that attempts to topple the government through inducements would not succeed. Abdullah also said his party’s legislators would not compromise their principles for money or political positions.
BJP Rejects Allegations, Demands Proof
The BJP strongly denied the allegations and challenged the Chief Minister to identify the person who allegedly made the offer. J&K BJP leaders said Omar Abdullah should either disclose the names of the MLA and the BJP functionary involved or publicly apologise for making what they called unsubstantiated accusations.
BJP Accuses Omar, Abdullah of Diversion
BJP spokespersons alleged that the chief minister was attempting to divert public attention from governance issues by making sensational political claims. The party questioned why the alleged incident was not immediately reported to the investigating agencies if such a serious attempt had actually taken place.
